Doctor Who: The Stones of Blood  - The third story in The Key to Time season - DVD Commentary (episode 1)

"[20:57 to 21:29] [Mary Tamm]: And look, he's smoking! Now that's something that we don't have nowadays. [Darrol Blake]: Well, I've noticed it's coming back. [MT]: Is it? [DB]: It's creeping back into the soaps; people are smoking again. Here we are in 2002. [MT]: Interesting...it's come full circle again, because in the 30's and 40's films, of course, everybody smoked incessantly. And then in America, they've banned smoking altogether, because I did a movie in America a few years...well, maybe 6 or 7 years ago...and they said, 'Oh, oh, only the baddies can smoke.' So, because I was a baddie I was allowed to smoke! We don't mind baddies ruining their health."
