THE DAILY EXPRESS 29th May 1970

In an interview with Lewis Rudd, the head of children's programmes for Thames Television, he revealed that they were planning to spend £300,000 on programming to compete with the BBC's output. One new programme to be launched is Ace of Wands who would feature an appearance by 'glamorous' Hildegard Neil, recently seen in Project Sahara, and a favourite of The Daily Mirror. But, as Rudd admits, they have discovered that 10 year old viewers prefer 'adult' programmes like Callan and Doomwatch!
