DR KIT PEDLER, creator of "Doomwatch," has taken his name off the credits of the current series because he doesn't agree with the script policy.
But he hasn't completely severed ties with the BBC's Doomwatch lobby.
He is supplying ideas for those sardonic take-offs of TV commercials in BBC 1's non-fictional series on environment problems. DOWN TO EARTH (10.10).
There's another batch tonight, between items ranging from river pollution to Environment Minister Peter Walker discussing the recent Stockholm conference on the problems of Spaceship Earth. Producer John Percival is delighted to see viewers following up the programme's disclosures. Last week's item about the horror trade in pickled songbirds resulted in a deluge of 600 letters to the Boyal Society for the Protection of Birds.
